The petition to rename Andrew Jackson middle school did not specify what the new name would be but some people have suggested the school the Be named after Harry T & Harriette V. Moore, the two civil rights leaders and educators who were assassinated in 1951 in Mims
A student at Andrew Jackson middle school said, “as a student at Jackson, the money that could be used for my education and my safety should be used for such, and not for something that someone outside of the school believes should be changed. I do not want the name of Jackson changed”
