At around 10:20pm, BCSO responded to a call for a crash near US1 ans Burkholm road in Mims

The BCFR vehicle, Engine 21, contained 1 civilian patient and 3 BCFR personal.

The civilian and two of the BCFR personnel were airlifted to local trauma centers.

Sarah Codding commented on a social media post saying “I was in the 911 center… My heart was breaking..”

“We took 6 or 7 calls for this crash,” she said, “and when I heard someone say “fire truck” I flipped over to my map, and sure enough, there it was on my screen.

She said, “In the middle of all the 911 pins was the icon “E21”. NOOOO!!!”

FHP said the pickup driver and one firefighter, a 39-year-old Mims woman, suffered critical injuries. Another firefighter, a 25-year-old Mims man, suffered serious injuries, the crash report stated. The third firefighter, a 53-year-old Mims man, suffered minor injuries, according to troopers.

All the victims were wearing seat belts, according to the crash report.

The FHP said the wreck remains under investigation.
