FOUND SAFE: Missing runner found Safe, with Minor Injuries

A missing endurance runner was found safe Monday morning, two days after he disappeared while running a 100-mile race, police said.

Mr. Blewett was taken to PMC with non-life-threatening injuries by Brevard County Fire Rescue

Titusville police said Earl Blewett, 57, was found disoriented around 8:15am in the woods behind Knights Armament on Columbia Blvd., about a mile from the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary, where the Ancient Oaks 100 Mile Endurance Run was held.

Police said Blewett was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

“We’re happy he’s been found alive. It’s pretty rugged terrain out there,” Titusville police spokeswoman Amy Matthews told Florida Today. “There’s brush, trees, wild animals. And we’re just so happy he’s alive.”

No other details about his discovery were immediately released.

Titusville Police are currently searching for 57-year-old, Earl Linwood Blewett.

Mr. Blewett was last seen at 9:30 PM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the finish line of the Ancient Oaks 100 Mile Endurance Run at the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary located at 444 Columbia Blvd.

Mr. Blewett is approximately 5 feet tall and 11 inches tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds, has brown eyes and short grey thinning hair.

He was last seen wearing a neon greenish-yellow tank top, black shorts, black waist pack, small light and possibly glasses.

Fellow runners at the event expressed their concern for Mr. Blewett as local First Responders searched the 470-acre forest. As of 7pm Sunday night, law enforcement is still on the scene.
