Kenndey Space Center, FL- Today at 12:34 EDT the new Russian Module that docked with the International Space Station early Thursday Morning suddenly fired its thrusters and subsequently moved the Space Station. NASA held a media teleconference early today to address this issue and officials stated that the Space Station is currently safe and has moved back into a normal position and orbit.

Due to today’s events, officials have decided to delay the launch of OFT-2. NASA, Boeing, and ULA are all now targeting August 3rd at 1:20:10 PM EDT. OFT-2 could have launched on Saturday the 31st but due to a “classified mission,” they will not have the range to launch. During today’s briefing officials said they would like to monitor the Space Station and make sure it is in a stable condition before Starliner docks.
