The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man found dead at Playalinda Beach on Sunday, July 18.
The man is identified as 73-year-old Edmond Hayle from Palm Bay.
The investigation has determined that while in the surf, Hayle began to act as if he was in some type of physical or medical distress.
Hayle was assisted to shore where he became unresponsive and was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Agents are awaiting the results of an autopsy by the Brevard County Medical Examiner for a determination on Hayle’s exact cause of death.
