**UPDATE**

An updated press release by the owner can be found here that provides a new timeline for construction provided by the developer.

Demolition of the old Searstown Mall, now called the Titusville Mall, may start as early as October, as developer California Retail Properties Corp. plans for a major $145 million redevelopment project.

For years, the mall has been in the crosshairs for redevelopment as the property’s prime location and the nearby Space Coast’s growth created demand for new construction in the area.

The 22-acre, three-phase project, called Titusville Resort & Destination, is expected to include:

  • A 162,000-square-foot outdoor shopping center
  • 326 apartments with a two-story parking structure
  • A seven-story, 153-room hotel and a four-story parking structure

Bealls Outlet, The Antique Mall, Avis Car Rental and Titusville Mall Cinema remain in the master plan.

The development will proceed as follows:
– Phase 1, commercial and retail
– Phase 2, residential and senior living
– Phase 3, hotel and sport complex/convention center

The project team includes Orlando-based Cuhaci & Peterson as architect and Titusville-based Honeycutt & Associates Inc. as civil engineer.
