On January 13, 2021, the Titusville Police Department Special Investigation’s Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3800 block of Valley Lane, resulting in a large seizure of the deadly drug Fentanyl.
A handgun and cocaine were also seized during the search.
Detectives initially began their investigation after numerous tips about drug activity at the residence. After the home was cleared by the SWAT team, detectives and crime scene personnel seized over 160 grams of Fentanyl, a highly potent and lethal Opioid that is often the main contributor in overdose deaths.
Detectives estimate the street value of the seizure to be approximately $18,000.00.
VINCENT VIRGIL GIBSON JR, 29, of Valley Lane, was charged with:
- Trafficking in Fentanyl
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
- Possession of Cocaine
Gibson was taken into custody without incident at the residence and booked into the Brevard County Jail. If convicted of these charges Gibson will face a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison.
“We remain committed to targeting and stopping anyone who is engaged in the selling of deadly narcotics in the City of Titusville”, said Special Investigations Sgt. Troy Barbour. “This amount of Fentanyl off the street almost certainly saved a life”, added Barbour.
