A local convicted felon was arrested for armed carjacking.
Brian Demond Farmer, 35, of Titusville, was arrested and charged with:
Robbery with a FirearmCarjacking
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Discharge of a Firearm in Public
At approximately 1:40 PM on Wednesday, February 5th 2020, Titusville Police responded to a report of shots fired near the 1500 block of Elizabeth Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect battered the victim, threatened him with a firearm, fired a gun shot into the air and drove off in the victim’s 2006 Nissan Altima. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Police immediately secured the scene and set up an area perimeter. Within minutes, the suspect was located in the stolen vehicle and police initiated a traffic stop. The suspect fled the stolen vehicle on foot.

K9 “Draco” and officers tracked and located the suspect. The suspect was identified and taken into custody.
Farmer was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
